This study aims to identify the effectiveness of using the active learning strategies in developing the achievement and creative thinking in mathematics for grade nine students in the Sultanate of Oman. The researcher followed the semi empirical method, which includes choosing the experimental designing of two groups (the controlling group and the experimental group). The population of this study were from two schools, 30 students from achievement Al. Shikh Majid bin Khamis School for basic education as an experimental group and another 30 students from Al.Shikh Ibrahim bin Saeed Al.abri School for basic education as a controlling group. The experimental group studied through using the brainstorming and cooperative learning strategies, while the controlling group learned via using the ordinary way. The results illustrated the existence of a statistical indication differential at the level of (α ≤ 0,05) between the experimental and controlling groups marks in the creative thinking and academic achievement tests which then were ended for the experimental group. This study recommends further future studies depending on the current study's results of the active learning strategies, brainstorming and collaborative learning, which were proven to prompt academic achievement and creative thinking among students, and apply them in various educational domains.
